About Me
Hi! I’m Krista, owner and creator of Flowers Always. I’m a California girl currently living in Florida, after a long stop in Colorado.
I named our business Flowers Always for a beloved Claude Monet quote, “I must have flowers, always, and always.”
Me too, Claude, me too.
Flowers are my love language! They have been a consistent source of joy for me in this ever-changing life.
One of my first jobs was at the front counter of a little flower shop near Boulder.
When the shop was busy, I would help the designers fulfill their orders. I learned the basics from them and continued to work with fresh flowers in different capacities over the next 20 years while raising my family.
When my husband and I were first married, my mom had my beautiful bridal bouquet preserved as a gift to me after the wedding. For many years, it was displayed in a place of honor in our home until we eventually downsized and no longer had a space for it, so it was tucked away in a closet. When I pulled it out a few years ago, it had turned brown and was no longer display-worthy.
Out of sheer curiosity, I began researching the options modern brides have for preserving their bouquets. Down the rabbit hole I went! Inspired by some incredibly talented floral preservation artists, I recreated my own bouquet using a hybrid of several techniques. Then I began to do the same thing for friends, and friends of friends, and family. I developed my own pressed preservation process characterized by petal reconstruction and color correction that produces a natural effect that will also age well.
It is such a gift to do what I do everyday and to be entrusted with so many precious memories. I can’t wait to meet you and get started preserving yours!
